FIFO (Fade In/Fade Out) is a Non-profit Film-making Consortium dedicated to independent filmmaking
and its filmmakers.

FIFO organized as a "consortium" because all films, even short ones, can be expensive. We choose to be a non-profit in order to allow all segments of our business, artistic and creative communities to get involved and benefit from indie filmmaking. This also allows FIFO to cultivate the collaborative nature of filmmaking and the collective resources of its nearly 300 members to further filmmaking.

A consortium is above all, a community formed “…to carry out some common purpose.” FIFO’s purpose, is pretty simple and straightforward: to cultivate, encourage, support and grow independent film-making.

FIFO, like most films, grew from an idea into a full-fledged enterprise through the efforts of an original gathering of a dozen filmmakers from in and around the Lehigh Valley, PA. Seven years later that number has grown to nearly 300 members from around the country, representing all disciplines of filmmaking. FIFO, therefore, is a place to learn, grow and share filmmaking talents and skills.

FIFO is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, allowing contributors to receive a tax write off, while allowing FIFO to assist its community of independent filmmakers. Over the past seven years, the FIFO community has produced several short films, assisted on three features, while offering

opportunities to filmmakers at all levels to grow their craft and gain valuable experience and connections within the filmmaking community.

The FIFO Board of Directors is a small, diverse group of creatives from in and outside of the filmmaking industry, from all corners of the United States.

Nearly all of FIFO’s short films, are considered for inclusion in our CINEMA & SUDS film events – Celebrations of Short Films and Craft Beers. C&S screenings are held at craft brew venues around the country, viewed by thousands of people. C&S events are all about exposure for filmmakers and brewpubs.
